Partition for Souvenir Shop in National Park

As part of an exciting project at Kanger Valley National Park, our team of architects designed and executed a unique jalli partition to elevate the ambiance of the souvenir shop and waiting area.

Standing at an impressive 6 feet tall, this partition was crafted using the traditional wrought iron craft of Bastar, combining intricate artistry with functionality. The jalli not only serves as a divider but also adds a distinctive aesthetic and a local cultural touch to the waiting lounge.

This design celebrates the rich heritage of Bastar’s wrought iron artistry, seamlessly blending tradition with modern architectural sensibilities.

About the craft:
The Iron Craft of Bastar, a GI-tagged art form, is a traditional technique rooted in the region's rich tribal heritage. Artisans skillfully hand-forge wrought iron to create intricate decorative and functional pieces, often inspired by nature and local folklore. Known for its rustic charm and durability, this craft beautifully reflects the essence of Bastar's cultural identity.
